Cismar monastery is a large medieval abbey in Ostholstein, which impresses alone with its unique historic atmosphere. At the same time, it is one of the most significant Lübeck early Gothic style buildings with one of the oldest surviving winged altars whatsoever. Numerous events as well as regular special exhibitions make a visit even more attractive. Footpaths around the monastery also lead to the Baltic Sea, which is only five kilometres away.
